Job Summary:
Provide maintenance support to troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain all instrumentation associated with the boiler, turbine, generator, and all auxiliary equipment for the plant.
Job Responsibilities:
- Follow safety procedures and safe working practices to maintain a safe working environment
- Perform safety related duties such as accepting work authorizations, hot work permits, confined space entry permits, etc
- Service, calibrate, troubleshoot and repair automated control systems, continuous emission monitors, plant instrumentation and electrical equipment up to 230kV
- Maintain drawings, specifications, test logs, and other records
- Research equipment manuals and requisition repair parts
- Read, write and understand logbooks, work orders, procedures, time sheets, expense reports, requisitions, and other documentation as required
- Operate company vehicles including trucks, forklifts and other mobile equipment
- Perform plant housekeeping functions
- Perform other duties as directed
- Work rotating or alternate shift schedule and overtime as required
Minimum Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Must have 4 years formal training in electronics, instrumentation, engineering or related technical discipline
OR
- 4 years military experience in electronics repair & calibration substituted for formal training
- Successful candidates must receive a rating of Recommended on the NRG Pre-employment Assessment test
- Requires operation of a motor vehicle; valid Driver’s License required
