About the position: This position will be assigned to the Short Stay on Lake Moultrie, located in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. The positions work schedule will be determined by the needs of the activity.

Physical Effort: Must be able to lift 75 - 100 pounds and stand, stoop, and bend without complications.
Responsible for the efficient and economical operation of the Recreation Lodging Grounds Maintenance and Equipment Rental operations which contribute to mission accomplishment .and quality of life for Joint Base Charleston. Directly supervises. Laborers and Recreation Aides.

Supervises and coordinates the work of subordinate employees, setting priorities, instructing subordinates on changes in policies and assuring understanding of various directives and policies. Determines equipment and supplies needed for each section. Assigns and reviews work assignments, prepares work schedules, review and approve leave request based on workload.

Supports the Equal Employment & Opportunity Program. Trains, orients, and/or arranges training by appropriate agencies for all subordinates commensurate with job requirements and needs of the employees. Inspects buildings, rooms, and outside areas for deficiencies, fire, safety hazards, and cleanliness.

Schedules and coordinates and ensures completion of all work orders and service calls with Civil Engineering (CE). Ensures all rental equipment is safe and free from defects and preventative maintenance is performed as directed by OEM standards. Ensure facility standards are being met, effective scheduling of Laborers and Recreation Aides, quality of work performed and effective use of time.

Maintains personnel records, evaluates employee's performance, and takes appropriate disciplinary actions. Addresses grievances and prepares awards as appropriate. Responsible for the safety, security, and welfare of all patrons visiting facility. Ensures all Fire and safety reports are filed in a timely manner. Accountable for the quantity and quality of work performed by assigned subordinates. Manages Government Purchase card. Performs other duties as assigned. Position is a position of trust.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:

A foundation of basic knowledge or principles and techniques of a working recreational facility as gained through a college degree in Recreation or an equivalent work experience. Skilled in oral and written communication, in the application and utilization of knowledge. Incumbent is required to plan and carry out business activities of a program segment which meet the needs of the patronage of the facility.

Must have specialized program experience in equipment rental operations. Must have knowledge.in outboard engine repair, electrical knowledge of appliances, plumbing, painting and ground maintenance. Must be able to lift 75-100 lbs. Must satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). THIS IS A DRUG TESTING DESIGNATION POSITION.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
