POSITION: Senior Operations Manager with a heavy construction/concrete background

Kudzu Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Operations Manager with a heavy construction/concrete background to oversee the daily operations of client who owns a commercial concrete company. The successful candidate will manage projects, lead operational teams, ensure quality and safety standards, and drive overall operational efficiency and profitability. This role requires a leader with a strong background in construction management, particularly in concrete operations, who can ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Duties of Senior Operations Manager with a heavy construction/concrete background

1. **Operational Leadership:**

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company, including scheduling, workforce management, and resource allocation.

- Lead and mentor a team of project managers, supervisors, and field workers, ensuring productivity, quality, and safety.

- Develop and implement strategic plans to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

2. **Project Management:**

- Manage multiple large-scale commercial concrete projects from initiation to completion.

- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with client specifications and industry standards.

- Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless project delivery.

3. **Financial Oversight:**

- Manage operational budgets and forecast future project costs.

- Work closely with the finance team to track project profitability and performance metrics.

- Identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality.

4. **Health & Safety Compliance:**

- Implement and maintain stringent health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment on all project sites.

- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA standards.

- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to mitigate risk and enhance workplace safety culture.

5. **Quality Control:**

- Develop and enforce quality control measures to ensure high standards of workmanship.

- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to materials, workmanship, or project execution.

- Monitor concrete performance and mix design to ensure long-term durability and structural integrity.

6. **Client Relations:**

- Maintain strong relationships with key clients, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction with project outcomes.

- Act as the point of contact for high-level client communications and negotiations.

- Work with the sales team to develop proposals and secure future business.

7. **Team Development:**

- Train, mentor, and develop employees to promote skill growth and career advancement.

- Foster a positive, collaborative, and results-driven company culture.

- Ensure staffing levels are adequate for current and upcoming projects.

Qualifications of Senior Operations Manager with a heavy construction/concrete background

Required:

- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).

- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in operations management, with a strong background in commercial concrete or heavy construction.

- Proven track record of managing large-scale concrete projects and leading teams in a fast-paced environment.

- In-depth knowledge of concrete construction techniques, materials, and safety regulations.

- Strong financial acumen and experience managing project budgets and profitability.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and maintain high-quality standards.

- Proficiency in construction management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

- OSHA certification and other relevant safety qualifications (preferred).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
