Job Purpose

Outreach and Programming Coordinator supports campus outreach and programming for faculty, staff, and students on issues of suicide prevention, MH and SUD services and support through consultation, workshops, trainings, and presentations.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education should apply.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Excellent oral communications skills to lead presentations and interact cooperatively with students, staff, and faculty at all levels of CofC. Experience presenting information to diverse individuals. Excellent writing skills, including the demonstrated ability to produce professional correspondence, proposals and reports, using Word processing or other computer applications, and related technology. Skills in working effectively as a team member and with staff in a mutually supportive environment; excellent listening skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the demonstrated ability to interact professionally, share and gather information, and respond appropriately to student/staff needs. Strong organizational skills, including demonstrated ability to keep accurate records and appropriately maintain the confidentiality of records. Experience working with and serving diverse populations. High degree of initiative. Strong ability to handle multiple tasks, deadlines and competing priorities. Demonstrated experience working with adults presenting with mental health, social, and emotional needs. Excellent analytical, judgment and problem solving-skills such as the ability to see patterns/trends and make recommendations for improvement and devise new or improve existing work methods.

Additional Comments Regarding Position

*This is a temporary grant position exempt from grievance rights. This position is funded by other than State monies and continuation of this position is contingent upon availability of these funds.
