QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: *High school diploma or equivalent *Good moral character *Ability to pass a thorough background investigation *No convictions of a crime that could have resulted in being imprisoned in a federal or state penitentiary *Ability to pass a written test at the Police Department *Ability and willingness to work a variety of days and shifts, including holidays *Must also complete TESTING through Job Service for 911 Communications Officer which includes Typing, Spelling, Grammar, and Data Entry.DUTIES INCLUDE: *Perform a variety of routine clerical, technical and administrative work in dispatching emergency services *Assist the public with information and directions *Keep official and confidential records *Assist in administration of standard operating policies and procedures of the dispatch center *Use office equipment, to include: data base systems, multi-lined 9-1-1 emergency and non-emergency telephones, teletype, computer, photocopy and fax machine, radio base, TDD and paging systems *Other duties as assigned *Will be trained on-the-job in emergency medical dispatch *Will be sent to Helena for Basic training before one year Full-time and part-time positions, days and shifts to be varied, including holidays. Starting salary is $20.10. Benefits include: vacation, comp and sick leave; holiday pay; Public Employees Retirement System; and part-paid health insurance.
