Job Purpose
|
Archival Fellow for the “Avery and Liberatory Literacies” grant will support project leadership in arranging, describing, digitizing collections, and creating access points for collections.
|
|
Minimum Requirements
|
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university in history (particularly a strong working knowledge of African American history and culture), education, arts management, historic preservation and planning, library/archival administration, political science, anthropology, sociology, communications, or other related fields.
- Experience and/or interest in research, libraries, genealogy, or other areas related to archival work.
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as with the public and other team members.
Preferred:
- ALA-accredited master’s degree in library and information science, or a related field.
Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.

- Academic training and experience in history (particularly a strong working knowledge of African American history and culture), education, arts management, historic preservation and planning, library/archival administration, political science, anthropology, sociology, communications, or other related fields.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as with the public and other team members.
- Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.

|
*This is a temporary grant position exempt from grievance rights. This position is funded by other than state monies and continuation of this position is contingent upon the availability of these funds.
