Disabilities Board of Charleston County is seeking to hire a Finance Director • Excellent conceptual teamwork, decision making and problem-solving skills • Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and accounting software • Attentive to detail and ability to organize, coordinate and schedule work assignments in an efficient and timely manner to meet State, Federal and Agency deadlines • Ability to be flexible and adapt to job/organizational changes and alter activities to meet demands • Ability to work autonomously and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times • Strong oral and written communication skills - Ability to represent the agency in a positive manner and to establish effective working relationships with vendors, staff members, regulatory agencies, and the general public • Ability to collect, compile, interpret, assist, balance and assemble information in a clear, concise manner in accordance with established procedures and with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles • Ability to count and perform mathematical computations such as addition, subtraction, division, and percentages by touch on a ten-key calculator with a tape • Considerable knowledge of non-profit fund accounting and GAAP principles • Valid SC Driver’s license and satisfactory driving record • Serenic Business Central (formerly Serencic Navigator) and Kronos (UKG), experience a plus • Responsibilities • Present monthly financial statements to senior staff • Prepare, implement, monitor and report on Agency budget • Monitor fixed assets and capital improvement expenditures and oversee/prepare agency depreciation schedules on a monthly basis • Assist Executive Director with oversight of agency bank accounts and investments at the direction of the Board of Directors • Oversee/Reconciliation of bank statements and general ledger accounts monthly, quarterly and annually, and recommend solutions for report discrepancies. • Coordinate and prepare audit schedules and interim work for annual external audit • Acts as liaison to outside parties/interests as requested including retirement plan, insurance(s), audit firms, banks, DDSN, DHHS, Committees, Vendors, etc. • Interprets DDSN/DHHS/CMS Financial Directives and assures translation of state policies and procedures into local practice through development and distribution of agency policies and procedures • Prepare, allocate and monitor insurance policies relating to building, vehicle, liability, worker’s compensation, officers/director’s insurance coverage and others as needed • Oversee set-up of finance software, framework of G/L structure and allocation schedules, etc. • Create and edit Jet Reports as necessary • Oversee payroll processing and set-up of payroll, time & attendance and scheduling software • Prepare and submit Medicaid Cost Reports • Prepare and/or assist Executive Director in preparing contracts and grants • Oversee/prepare and monitor property tax exemptions for all real property • Assist with analysis work and coordination of agency retirement system • Responsible for the finance departments’ adherence to state, federal, outside funding sources, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) • Oversee coding of checks and cash receipts daily, prepare bank deposits and post to ledger • Act as backup for all finance functions • Participates in the Director’s Meetings and serves as a member of the Senior Staff • Others duties as assigned Job Type: Full-time Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year Benefits: • Dental insurance • Employee assistance program • Flexible spending account • Health insurance • Health savings account • Life insurance • Paid time off • Retirement plan • Vision insurance
