Job Purpose
|
The Box Office Assistant Manager works with the Ticketing and Patron Services Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the College’s George Street Box Office (GSBO) and coordinate all non-athletic ticketed events. This position serves as the marketing contact for all events ticketed through the GSBO. This position coordinates regular patron communications including a monthly newsletter and social media posts, and provides support for the supervision and training of all student and temporary box office and front of house staff. Assists with setting up events, maintaining seating charts and ticket pricing, preparing, and providing post-event financial settlements. Assists with the coordination between the GSBO and the Treasurer’s Office on the execution of proper credit card control procedures and the timeliness and accuracy of financial reports.

Minimum Requirements
|
High school diploma and two years relevant experience in business management, arts management, or related field required. A bachelor’s degree and experience with ticketing systems, customer service, and supervisory experience is preferred. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
|
Working knowledge of Box Office and Front of House practices. Experience with modern office practices, procedures, and equipment, and proficient use of Microsoft Office suite. Excellent customer service and communication skills, oral and written. Strong organizational skills and ability to produce accurate results while working in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of individuals including event patrons, campus representatives, and external clients. Knowledge and appreciation of the performing arts is a plus. Must be able to perform well under stress and maintain a positive attitude. Must be able to work with and supervise students and part-time employees. Must be able to multi-task, have strong time-management skills and attention to detail.

Additional Comments Regarding Position
|
This position requires a flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends and occasional holidays as dictated by the event schedule. Job duties require the ability to stand, lift, push, pull, carry and climb stairs. Very occasional travel may be required.
