Manage medical administrative functions associated With the Mental Health Telehealth Program for the facility which provides virtual telehealth to rural sites in VISN 7. Assist professional staff with and handle administrative functions of the Office. Provide to the Associate Chief of Staff of Mental Health, program evaluation measures to include workload numbers, access measures, performance measure compliance, veteran satisfaction and outcome measures pertaining to this program. Incumbent(s) manage access wait lists, consult tracking, work load encounters and other management tracking tools. Manage registration, admission and scheduling for the Mental Health Telehealth Program. Exercise control and have continuing responsibility for projects, questions, or problems associated with determining eligibility, patient processing or receptionist activities for the Program. This includes patient advocacy as well as implementing protocols for disturbed behavior or the implementation of the high-risk suicidal precaution protocol. Oversee patients' medical and administrative records. Coordinate patient processing activities. Coordinate and approve the release Of information. Handle notification of family members. Coordinate arrangements with other health care facilities to include space, equipment and training staff on equipment at those sites. Track and document all administrative activities and requirements for the facility as pertaining to this Telehealth Program. Responsible for setting up clinics, changing parameters to meet the supply/demand for mental heath care at each Site, and inactivating, reactivating or canceling clinics. Ensure CPT codes are accurate and updated timely.

Preferred Experience: One year experience scheduling telemental health appointments, running VistA reports to include open encounters, clinic utilization, wait time management, and new clinical grid set-up and cancelling.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-7 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-6.The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.

You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience:
For the GS-7, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-06) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Comprehensive practical knowledge of an extensive body of policies, procedures, and program guidance related to administrative requirements of clinical operations, clinical profiles, stop codes, DSS mapping, CPT codes, medical records, release of information, mental health programs and telehealth programs as well as basic data collection/analysis/validation techniques.

There is no educational substitution at this grade level.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the incumbents(s) sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking standing, bending, carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts, or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
